The new 2013 budget proposes to reward persons that provide information to CRA about international tax non-compliance.  The reward is 15% of the federal tax collected as long as the federal tax collected is $100,000 or more.  So beware of your friends, spouses, employees etc. that have an axe to grind with you . The good news is that there is a voluntary disclosure programs that can at least remove penalty and interest and deprive the whistleblower from the pleasure of seeing CRA coming after you.  See my newsletter on Voluntary Disclosures.
